Two Unique Approaches

The Merryweather Heist stands out as the first mission in GTA 5 where all three protagonists – Michael, Franklin, and Trevor – team up. However, what truly sets this mission apart is its unique approach. Players have the freedom to choose between two distinct approaches before the heist: the Freighter Top or the Offshore Bottom.

Freighter Top

In the Freighter Top approach, players infiltrate the Merryweather cargo ship from above, fighting their way through waves of heavily armed guards. This path requires stealth and precise marksmanship, as players must eliminate 12 enemies with headshots.

Offshore Bottom

Alternatively, the Offshore Bottom approach involves swimming to the ship's hull and using stealth tactics to infiltrate it. By eliminating 12 enemies without being detected, players can complete the mission with maximum stealth bonus. Additionally, reaching the ship's interior without being spotted grants an additional bonus.

Mission Challenges and Objectives

Regardless of the approach chosen, players face several challenges during the Merryweather Heist:

1. Eliminate 12 enemies with a headshot (Freighter Top approach only)
2. Eliminate 12 enemies with stealth attacks (Offshore Bottom approach only)
3. Finish the heist with an accuracy of 80% or more
4. Infiltrate the ship's interior without being detected (Offshore Bottom approach only)

By completing these challenges, players can earn bonus rewards and enhance their overall heist experience.
